Juice Alert Pressure Sensor

By Alexandra Bachmayer

My experiment was to create an embroidered circuit on an industrial embroidery machine with a DIY pressure sensor as a weight sensor.

While I love incorporating pressure sensors into wearables, I was curious how responsive it would be to changes in weight (in this case, in the form of a glass of juice being slowly sipped on until empty).

My DIY sensor was super sensitive and was able to easily act as a weight sensor, providing me with a huge range to work with. It worked really well detecting decreasing juice levels. This circuit uses a 220 Ω resistor.
